Here is a recently completed project Te Puke’s BP Petrol Station. This canopy was in dire need of severe structural upgrades to keep it compliant with modern standards and rectify serious rust and corrosion issues on the steelwork to extend the life for many years to come.
This project was completed with rope access techniques to access the steel framing without standing on the underslung roofing, keeping our staff safe and allowing the station to remain operational.
Scope of Work
This was followed by some days spend grinding out the Steel purlins that support the roof, ensuring that they were in sound condition and could support the weight of the roof.
Both of these stages of advanced corrosion were treated with Altex Carbothane 133 LH and Rustbond PS to treat and coat the system with a durable 50 mincon thick, fireproof coating.
We then spent a day waterblasting the roof, and installing new fresh coating of HiGuard roof paint, in titania to match the steel work. This gave the whole canopy a fresh, uniform appearance that will protect the structural repairs and upgrades for years to come.
